Section 1What this covers

Kith is a private memory for the people you know. You tell it about your life, mostly by talking to Claude, and it keeps the thread.

This policy explains what Kith stores, where it lives, who else touches it, and what will never be done with it. It covers the Kith service at kith.vip, app.kith.vip, and mcp.kith.vip.

Section 2The people in your Kith

Personal connections. Personal details.

Kith holds detailed personal information about people who are not our users. Your friends, your family, your colleagues. Their children’s names, where they work, what they were worried about last spring, photographs of their faces. None of them signed up. Most of them will never know the record exists.

• What you record about another person is yours and is never shown to anyone else. There is no social layer in Kith, no mutual connections, and no public feed of information.
• We do not build a profile of anyone across accounts. If two users both know the same person, those are two unrelated records and nothing joins them.
• We do not analyse the people in your Kith. No sentiment analysis, no scoring, no psychological profiling, no inference about what someone thinks of you.
• We do not contact them. Kith never sends a message to anyone in your records, and never sends anything under your name.

Section 3What Kith collects

What you give it.

• Your account: your email address and authentication details.
• The people you record: names, nicknames, how a name is pronounced, contact details, addresses, important dates, and any other information you would like to store.
• What you tell it about them: facts, notes, and the things you want to remember. Every stored fact records where it came from and when.
• Your interactions: that you saw someone, when, for how long, where, and what you talked about.
• Photographs, if you add them, along with the technical information stored inside the image file.

What Kith records automatically. Standard server logs: IP address, browser or client, and timestamps, kept for security and debugging. Errors and crashes, so we can fix them.

What Kith does not collect. No advertising identifiers. No cross-site tracking.

Section 4How Kith uses it

To run the service you asked for, and for very little else:

• To answer your questions about the people you know.
• To work out how you best want to be in touch with your connections.
• To recognise faces in your photographs, so you identify a person once rather than every time.
• To send you the reminders and account notices described in section 5.
• To keep the service secure, to prevent abuse, and to fix it when it breaks.
• To reply when you write to us.

Section 5Using Kith through Claude, and who else touches your data

Kith is used mostly through Claude. When you connect Kith to Claude, you are authorising Claude to send requests to Kith on your behalf and to receive answers. That means the contents of those answers, which is to say what Kith knows about the people you asked about, are processed by Anthropic under Anthropic’s own terms and privacy policy.

Everyone else who touches your data. We use a small number of vendors to run the service. They process data on our instructions and may not use it for their own purposes:

We do not sell your personal information. Not our business.

We will disclose data if the law requires it, such as a valid subpoena or court order. If we are permitted to tell you, we will.

If Kith is ever sold or merged, your data may transfer with it. Any acquirer would be bound by this policy or by one no less protective, and you would be told before anything changed.

Section 6Connecting other accounts

Kith can connect to accounts you already have, so that it notices you connected with someone without you having to remember to tell it. Every connection is optional and Kith still functions even with none of them connected.

What a connected account does

A connected account can be used as a source for understanding the interactions you have with your important people.

Disconnecting takes it back

Every row a connection produces is stamped with the account that produced it. When you disconnect an account, every signal it contributed is deleted. Interactions you confirmed yourself survive.

Google Calendar

Kith asks for two permissions and no others.

• Read. To see event times, titles and attendees, so that Kith can tell you actually saw someone.
• Write, confined. Kith can create its own calendar and put events on it. Google scopes this so that Kith holds no ability to see, change or delete an event it did not create.

Kith never asks for the permission that grants your whole calendar.

Google Contacts

If you choose to import from Google Contacts, Kith reads the entries you select and copies them into your account. It is a one time copy rather than a live sync, and Kith does not write anything back to your address book.

Gmail

Reading Messages and Creating Drafts. If you elect to utilize our Gmail integration, Kith will utilize it to automatically piece together your email interactions with the important contacts in your Kith. Kith reads mail and message content, and keeps only what it derived: a proposed interaction with notes, plus facts. Nothing enters your history until you approve it. You may instruct Kith to draft messages on your behalf. Beyond reading and drafting there is nothing more.

Section 7Faces and photographs

Kith uses Amazon Rekognition to detect and match faces. When you add a photograph, image data is sent to Amazon’s service, which returns the locations of faces and, if you have identified someone before, a match. Amazon holds a mathematical representation of each face, called a face vector, in a collection that belongs to your account.

Describing what is in a photograph

Photo descriptions. Kith also sends photographs to a vision model so that it can describe them, which is what makes “photos from the beach with the Smiths” a search that works.

Location in your photographs

Most photographs carry the exact coordinates of where they were taken. Kith reads them, because a photograph taken on a day you saw someone is evidence that fills in your timeline.

Coordinates are kept for as long as you keep the photograph, and are deleted with it. They are never used to build a picture of your movements, never shared with anyone outside the vendors listed above, and never used for advertising.

You can use Kith without ever adding a photograph. Nothing else in the product depends on it.

Section 8How long Kith keeps things, and what delete means

We keep what you store for as long as your account exists, and not longer. You may elect to delete your account and remove your data at any time.

When you close your account, everything is removed.

Section 9Security

Encrypted in transit and at rest. Credentials for any account you connect are encrypted separately, and photographs sit in object storage under keys that only your account can reach. Access to production systems is limited to those who need it.

Section 10Your rights

• Export. A full export of everything in your account.
• Correction. Fix anything, in conversation or in the app.
• Deletion. Delete any record, or the whole account.
• Disconnect any connected account, which deletes what it contributed, as described in section 6.
• Withdraw the Claude connection, at any time, without deleting anything.

Section 11U.S. state privacy rights

If you live in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana or another state with a comprehensive privacy law, you have rights to know, access, correct, delete, and to receive your data in a portable format. Section 10 gives all of those to everyone, so there is nothing extra to request.

We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, as those terms are defined in California law. We do not process personal information for targeted advertising or profiling in furtherance of decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

Section 12Children

Kith is not for children. It is not directed at anyone under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13 as an account holder. If we learn that we have, we will delete it.

Section 13If you are outside the United States

Kith is operated from the United States and your data is stored and processed there. If you are in a jurisdiction with different protections, using Kith means your data is transferred to the United States.

Section 14What Kith will never do

What you keep in Kith is never:

• Sold. To anyone, for anything.
• Published on a social feed. There is no social layer.
• Kept after you delete it. Delete means the row is gone, not hidden.

And Kith will never write to the people in your records, or send anything under your name. It can help you draft. It does not press send.

Section 15Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will tell you before it takes effect rather than quietly updating a date at the top. Material changes will be sent to the email address on your account.
